Sarah Adams, M.M.

Sarah Adams earned her undergrad degree in music performance form Western Oregon University specializing in opera/classical singing with an additional focus in violin performance. She went on to earn her masters degree in music from Western Oregon University. She specialized in singing in classical/opera and musical theater.

Sarah is a coloratura soprano, singing many roles including The Queen of the Night, Olympia, Cunigonde, Suzanna, Juliet. She has shifted her focus to solo concert singing because she loves the song selection freedom that format provides.

Sarah has performed as a violinist in symphonies, solo concerts, and orchestra pits. She has played in many musicals such as Brigadoon, Music Man, Crazy for You, Into the Woods, Kiss Me, Kate, and more.

Sarah is experienced teaching students of all ages, capabilities, and learning challenges. She is experienced in teaching in all styles of music. She focuses on teaching students how to effectively and healthily use their bodies to create their best sound. Each person’s voice is unique, she teaches them to be their best singing self and not an impersonator of someone else.

She teaches violinists to draw the sound out of their violin instead of forcing it to play. Students are taught to get acquainted with their instrument and its unique characteristics. Once a student knows their instrument’s sound, Sarah teaches them how to play their instrument as a duet, a collaborative effort – the violin and the musician working together to create beautiful music.

Sarah also teaches music theory. She teaches basic music theory in voice and violin lessons, but she also teaches it as a stand alone focus. Many students use lessons with her as tutoring for music classes in k-12 schools. Her lessons also meet music requirements for homeschool programs.

Sarah is NATS and MTNA certified – she serves on the board of the NATS Cascade Chapter.

My son has been taking piano and guitar lessons for more than a year. He loves his teachers and I can tell that they really care about my kid too. Your music school is wonderful and I highly recommend.

The school has everything that children need for successful study: textbooks, daily assignments, planner, notebooks, music sheets, a staff who are very nice and kind, and ready to help at any time.

I am most grateful that my son's guitar teacher not only makes learning fun and shares his knowledge, but his passion for music as well. I could not have found a better place for him to learn guitar.
